Vice President Joe Biden has taken what he says was his first airboat ride, touring a swath of Everglades National Park while touting the benefits of a federally funded restoration project to restore the flow of water.

“Meh.” I think it’s fair to say that’s how Floridians are feeling about Tuesday’s primary. Anyone want to start a “he’s the lesser of two evils” drinking game?

What are Florida Republicans thinking as they go to the polls for today’s primary? Some are more enthusiastic than others about the Republicans hoping to win the Florida primary.

    Is Miami the New Vegas?

Sun-drenched Miami has beaches, South Beach nightspots, a new stadium for the Miami Marlins and athletic superstars like LeBron James.

But nearly 300,000 people there are out of work after hard hits from the recession and the collapse of Florida’s real estate market.

Now, some big-money backers are touting a new attraction that promises to boost jobs: Casinos.

    Key West, Florida on Flickr.
My office today was the ocean off Key West, where Gov. Rick Scott was fishing to promote Florida tourism. He hooked a tarpon that snapped the line and got away, but he did reel in a gag grouper (he let it go after posing for pictures).
Sadly, T-Pain was not on the boat.

It’s election day in Miami-Dade County. That means former 2 Live Crew frontman Luther Campbell could be my new mayor. Who’s voting?

Luther Campbell, the former 2 Live Crew frontman, is best known for raunchy rap albums, mostly in the 1980s and 1990s, that were among the first to boast parental advisory stickers, as well as R- and X-rated videos. His legal battles defended freedom of speech, including a U.S. Supreme Court victory that secured an artist’s right to parody others’ material. (The song that landed him before the nation’s highest court? “Pretty Woman.”)

But it’s not his “Uncle Luke” rap persona that’s running for mayor in Florida’s most-populous county: Campbell’s campaign is built on decades of community involvement in his hometown.

“I’m dead serious. Are you?” read Campbell’s campaign flyers.

Could Luther “Luke” Campbell become mayor of Miami-Dade County? Stranger things have happened in Florida politics (literally).

I spent 24 hours with Democratic Senate candidate Kendrick Meek on a campaign tour across the Florida peninsula. Here’s kind of what it looked like.

I know it’s close to Halloween, but a skeleton probably wasn’t the campaign sign prop Alex Sink was looking for today in a campaign stop with Bill Clinton. **UPDATE NB: Just an idle observation about what might not make for a good campaign logo — unless your slogan is “SHE BLINDED ME WITH SCIENCE!!” — and not intended as a commentary on any candidate anywhere.
